This thesis examines the democratization processes in Tunisia and Egypt from 2011 to 2015. The study aims to identify and analyze the key factors contributing to Tunisia's relative democratic progress in contrast to Egypt's regression into authoritarianism. The findings suggest that institutional frameworks, the robustness of civil society, and the military's influence were decisive in shaping each country's democratic outcomes. By highlighting these dynamics, the thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of the challenges and prospects of democratization in post-revolution contexts and the broader scholarly discourse on political reform in the Arab world.
