The study is conducted using a qualitative content analysis with news articles in Swedish newspapers as analysed material. The overall results are presented in a coding frame, which is guided by the strategic and political focus, and further developed during the reading of the news articles. The results show that the Swedish newspapers framing of the American election was dominated by a strategic focus rather than a political focus. This result leads to the conclusion that the media logic was more present than the political logic. The picture is nuanced though and there are observations in the results that strengthens the presence of the political logic. (Less)
