This study has explored how different domestic beliefs affect the position of the Swedish government related to EU-initiatives about climate and forestry, using the Advocacy coalition framework (ACF). We have used data from different resources such as reports from the Swedish government, actor statements and critical articles. The findings of the study states that the economic and production oriented coalition have more influence than the environmental and ecological oriented one. This shows that advocacy actors can shape the national position towards EU-initiatives and simultaneously limit subnational environmental ambitions. (Less)
