- Abstract
- This study explores how young people's presence on social media can increase their risk of being recruited into criminal networks. It focuses on digital vulnerability, the normalization of crime, and challenges in preventive efforts. The research is based on semi-structured interviews with professionals from the police, social services, and civil society. It also includes an analysis of two key policy documents. The findings are presented in three main themes: exposure to recruitment through digital platforms, the role of status and belonging in shaping criminal identity, and structural difficulties in holding platforms accountable.
