This research unpacks the role of artistic initiatives in enabling sustainable revitalization through the lens of social cohesion. Using a qualitative approach, the thesis examines the case of San Potito Sannitico, a peripheral Italian town engaged in artistic initiatives for over two decades. Interviews with key... (More)

This research unpacks the role of artistic initiatives in enabling sustainable revitalization through the lens of social cohesion. Using a qualitative approach, the thesis examines the case of San Potito Sannitico, a peripheral Italian town engaged in artistic initiatives for over two decades. Interviews with key stakeholders highlight how a consistent focus on cross-cultural exchange and collaboration has helped foster both bridging and bonding social cohesion, despite challenges such as fluctuating participation and limited funding. These mechanisms have directly supported the town’s socially sustainable revitalization. The study offers insights for advancing sustainable revitalization in geographical peripheries. (Less)
