Abstract
This is a quantitative study that aims to investigate the labor market integration of foreign-born people. The purpose of the study is to analyze whether gender and class - based on the concepts of habitus, cultural and symbolic capital, and symbolic violence - are variables that affect how foreign-born people's qualifications and skills are utilized in the Swedish labor market, as well as their opportunities to work in their professions in Sweden. The study was conducted with a non-random sample. Respondents were first recruited through contact with two non-profit organizations operating in different counties in Sweden.

The study was conducted with a non-random sample. Respondents were first recruited through contact with two non-profit organizations operating in different counties in Sweden.
Then, snowball sampling was used, where respondents recommended other relevant participants. Data collection was carried out using a digital questionnaire that was constructed and distributed via SurveyMonkey. The results were analyzed using Yvonne Hirdman's Gender system theory and Pierre Bourdieu's class theory. The results show clear patterns where gender and class play a significant role in foreign-born labour integration. A statistically significant relationship could be found between the variables habitus and symbolic violence. Other variables showed a clear influence, but without achieving statistical significance.
