- Abstract
- This study aims to analyze how social welfare recipients are constructed in the political debate in Sweden. This has been done with a textual analysis of the protocol of the Swedish Parliament’s debates from January to March 2019. The method that’s been used is a textual analysis, and at the center of the analysis are theoretical concepts as norms and Jönson’s analysis of perspectives. The results showed that people´s use of social welfare was viewed as a form of alienation or exclusion from society, and that having social welfare was viewed as a type of ”trap” that kept its recipients passive.
