The study identifies two discourses: the victim discourse and the perpetrator discourse, with fundamental differences in how agency and responsibility are understood. In several articles, one or the other discourse appears unambiguously, while some show an integrated understanding. The analysis shows how text, through both form, language, and representation, contributes to the creation of simplified images of young people in community care, and thereby the media's way of presenting the circumstances surrounding those placed in SIS can have consequences for the target group. In addition, it was noted that boys are constructed as active and criminal, and girls are constructed as wounded and vulnerable. (Less)
