Abstract
In this thesis, different study techniques were tested over a limited period of time. The
purpose was both to find new tools and to increase the knowledge of the different factors
involved in effective learning, with the goal of diminishing practice frustration. Three
techniques were used; slowing, chunking and separation. The music selected was three
movements from Galliard’s Sonata 1-3. In order to judge the effectivity of the methods a
point system, which accounted for rhythm, articulation and pitch, was used. According to
the results chunking was the most effective, followed by slowing and finally separation.
However, the highest increase in points was achieved with the separation method. The
conclusion was that,... (More)

methods would be more beneficial in the long run yielding the highest results. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)
