Lärande hälsosystem i psykiatrin: Visualisering och analys av data från DIALOG+
(2025) EEML05 20251Department of Biomedical Engineering
- Abstract
- Mental health services increasingly seek ways to implement Learning Health Systems (LHS) to enhance care quality of patients. This bachelor's thesis focuses on DIALOG+, a structured tool used in psychiatry designed for patient-centered communication. By visualizing and analysing data from DIALOG+, continuous learning can be supported within clinical settings to improve treatment and organizational outcomes, serving as a foundation for development of a learning health system. At the Department of Psychotic Disorders at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, DIALOG+ has been used in outpatient care since 2019. Results show that DIALOG+ increased patient involvement, improved session structure, and facilitated shared decision-making by providing visual tracking of patient-reported outcomes over time. A solution was proposed to compare and analyze the results that are generated by DIALOG+. A series of interviews were conducted with individuals of different backgrounds, from healthcare staff to project leaders, to further investigate the need for analysis and visualisation for DIALOG+. This project identified a strong need for improved data accessibility of patient-reported outcomes that have been collected via DIALOG+. The prototype is based on input from the interviews and supported by a literature study on DIALOG+ and learning healthy systems. It includes features such as time-based visualization, prioritization tracking and session comments to support reflection and decision making. The project highlights the significance of integrating systematic data analysis and visualization into psychiatric practice to enable adaptive and responsive mental healthcare. It serves as a starting point for further development of visualization of data from DIALOG+. (Less)
