To be Perceived: A study on identity creation in the region of Öresund.

Abstract
With the 25-year anniversary of the Öresund bridge, questions can be posed: how has the region benefited from the increased integration? What opportunities and problems can the individuals of this region tell of? This thesis contributes to the discussion regarding identity creation in border cultures. The results presented in this study show how new identities are shaped out of necessity through the lens of liminality. Furthermore, the research proposes that there is an ongoing and increased neglect towards the region that shapes a new identity culture, wholly based on adaptability and community building.
