- Abstract
This study aims to explore the long-term impact of the educational model of rural boarding
schools in China on students. Using the theory of social reproduction, the study conducts an

rural boarding school graduates and secondary data from online social media platforms,
combined with the author's own field research experience, the study aims to gain a more
comprehensive understanding of the long-term impact of this educational model on
students. The findings reveal that the educational model of rural boarding schools has positive

This study aims to explore the long-term impact of the educational model of rural boarding
schools in China on students. Using the theory of social reproduction, the study conducts an
in-depth analysis of the effects of boarding schools on students from three dimensions:
family, school, and community. By collecting semi-structured interview experiences from
rural boarding school graduates and secondary data from online social media platforms,
combined with the author's own field research experience, the study aims to gain a more
comprehensive understanding of the long-term impact of this educational model on
students. The findings reveal that the educational model of rural boarding schools has positive
effects on current students, such as providing basic living support and improving academic
performance. However, due to prolonged exposure to a high-pressure learning environment
and prolonged separation from family, some students experience emotional deficits, which
can lead to feelings of inferiority, anxiety, and detachment in severe cases. The study
concludes that the lack of emotional support from families, imbalances in school resources
and management, and a crisis in cultural identity within society all contribute to long-term
impacts on rural boarding students. Therefore, some suggestions are proposed from these
three dimensions, with the hope of providing positive guidance for rural education. (Less)
