Honestly waste
(2025) IDEM05 20201Industrial Design
- Abstract
- “Honestly waste” is a collaborative project
between Swedese, a pioneer in Swedish
furniture design, and Malmö Upcycling
Service (M.U.S), a design studio dedicated to
transforming industrial waste into valuable
products. The partnership focuses on exploring
how Swedese’s production waste—comprising
wood, leather, fabric, and metal—can be
reimagined into functional, aesthetically
appealing, and marketable items. By
combining Swedese’s iconic design heritage,
represented by products like the Lamino Chair,
with M.U.S’s innovative approach to upcycling,
the project aims to integrate sustainability into
commercial production on a larger scale.
