Through connection to sustainability - the role of connection, as a transformative quality in Gyűrűfű ecovillage

Abstract
Climate change and environmental degradation are some of the most pressing crises of our time, however action is lacking. In order to create system transformation, the inner dimensions of sustainability need to be addressed: values, worldviews and qualities on an individual, collective and system level. Ecovillages seem to be spaces where the integration of internal and external sustainability occurs. This thesis aims to explore the role of Connection as a transformative quality in people’s decision-making to move to Gyűrűfű ecovillage and how this quality is supported there.
