Abstract (Swedish)
This thesis explores the role of the architect in the construction process. The project involves designing, projecting, and constructing a 30-square-meter Attefall house in accordance with Swedish building regulations, where the architect assumes full responsibility from concept to
completed building. By combining design and construction, the study investigates how the architect’s direct involvement throughout the entire process impacts both architectural quality and the practical execution of the project.

The work is divided into three phases: design, projection, and construction. Through meticulous documentation and reflection, the challenges and opportunities that arise when the architect takes on the role of designer, project... (More)
This thesis explores the role of the architect in the construction process. The project involves designing, projecting, and constructing a 30-square-meter Attefall house in accordance with Swedish building regulations, where the architect assumes full responsibility from concept to

The work is divided into three phases: design, projection, and construction. Through meticulous documentation and reflection, the challenges and opportunities that arise when the architect takes on the role of designer, project manager, and builder are analyzed.

The aim is to develop a deeper understanding of how the architect’s direct involvement can contribute to a more holistic and qualitative construction process, particularly in smaller-scale projects. By placing the project within a broader theoretical and practical context, the study also seeks to explore how this approach might inspire future architects to reclaim a more comprehensive role in the construction process.
