- Denna kandidatuppsats undersöker hur finskhet representeras i SVT:s humorprogram IFS – Invandrare för svenskar (2022–2025). Med utgångspunkt i Stuart Halls representationsteori och genom en multimodal diskursanalys analyseras programmets humoristiska framställningar av finskhet, med särskilt fokus på samspelet mellan språkliga och visuella uttryck. Studien visar att humorn i IFS – Invandrare för svenskar rymmer en dubbel funktion: den verkar normförstärkande i sin framställning av minoriteter, men kan samtidigt förstås som ett sätt att spegla och i viss mån ifrågasätta kulturella hierarkier och föreställningar om svenskhet. - This bachelor’s thesis examines how Finnishness is represented in the Swedish public service comedy show IFS – Invandrare för svenskar (2022–2025). Drawing on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and employing a multimodal discourse analysis, the study analyses the show’s humorous portrayals of Finnishness, with particular attention to the interplay between linguistic and visual cues. The findings show that humour in IFS – Invandrare för svenskar has a dual function: it reinforces normative representations of minorities, while simultaneously reflecting on and, to some extent, challenging cultural hierarchies and ideas of Swedishness.
