- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

- Abstract (Swedish)
- The real estate profession is characterized by high demands on availability, irregular working hours and a boundaryless work pattern, in which the boundaries between work and private life are often unclear. Previous research and industry reports suggest that such working conditions can contribute to elevated stress, impaired work-life balance, and reduced psychological well-being. Against this background, this study aimed to examine the relationships between boundaryless work, perceived work-family conflict, and real estate agents psychological well-being, as well as the role of coping strategies in these relationships. Against this background, this study aimed to examine the relationships between boundaryless work, perceived work-family conflict, and real estate agents psychological well-being, as well as the role of coping strategies in these relationships. Data was collected through an online survey completed by 130 real estate agents across Sweden. Boundaryless work, work-family conflict and coping were analyzed using correlation and regression analyses, with well-being as the dependent variable. The results indicated that work-family conflict was strongly negatively associated with well-being, whereas boundaryless work and coping strategies were positively associated. Regression analyses showed that both boundaryless work and work-family conflict predicted well-being, and that coping partially mediated these relationships. Model comparisons further demonstrated that the inclusion of coping strategies significantly increased the explanatory power of the model. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how flexibility and demands in boundaryless work interact with coping strategies to influence psychological well-being. These findings have practical implications for developing interventions that promote healthy workloads, enhance work-family balance, and prevent stress and burnout among real estate agents. (Less)
