- Utifrån tidigare forskning om och utvärderingar av musikämnets ställning i lärarutbildningen är syftet med förestående uppsats att ytterligare belysa musikämnets situation i den svenska lärarutbildningen såsom den manifesterar sig i kursplanerna på högskolor och universitet. I resultatet ser vi en verifiering av den tidigare forskningen som påvisar ett undanträngande av musikämnet till förmån för ett mer allmänpedagogiskt tillvägagångssätt under benämningen estetiska ämnen. I konfrontationen mellan resultatet och Kp2000 påvisas också tydlig att lärarutbildningarna, förutom tillkortakommanden inom de valfria områdena, inte kan garantera lärarstudenterna den kunskap som krävs för ett måluppfyllande som beskrivs i Kp2000.
Music as an elective? A study of the syllabi of Swedish teacher education programs and their relations to the subject of music and the music syllabus of the Swedish compulsory school. Based on earlier research and evaluation of the music subject, the purpose of this study is to enhance the general picture of the music subject and its situation within the Swedish teacher education program as manifested in the syllabi found in academies and universities throughout the country. The subject of analysis is the syllabi of all compulsory studies within the generalist programs which, combined with the Kp2000 creates the foundation of this papers research question: In what way are teacher students prepared for music teaching according to Kp2000?. From an overall hermeneutic perspective, the analysis is filtered through four keywords taken from the presented context surrounding the analytic object; the words are music, aesthetics, muse and artistic. Regarding the earlier research, the results have a confirming part on the issue of the music subject being diminished to the account of teacher oriented subjects. The confrontation between the question and Kp2000 shows that the education for generalist music teachers, beside from showing shortages in other areas, cannot guarantee the teacher students the amount of music education needed to be able to teach according to the Kp2000.
