- Abstract
- This candidate essay aims to examine the possibilities occupational therapists (OT) have in order to support refugee children in Sweden. The authors find the subject of current interest because there is a constant and frequently debate in our society concerning refugees, which makes us question what role the OT could have with this group. Conclusions: The authors make the conclusion that OTs could be able to support refugee children and their parents? health on the basis of an occupational perspective on as well person-, group- and society level. Through creating empowerment within the family, they might be able to reduce occupational deprivation through establishing occupational balance and a feeling of participation in the society. (Less)
