Markaryd Cantat - ett körprojekt belyst ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv

- Abstract
- I oktober 2006 presenterade jag för Utbildnings- och kulturförvaltningen i Markaryd idén att samla sångintresserade i Markaryds kommun till en projektkör för att uppföra ett större körverk med orkester. Målen med projektet var att stimulera till ökad sång- och körverksamhet i skola och kommun och genom denna aktivitet, dels skapa närkontakt med klassisk musik, dels att bygga broar mellan olika grupperingar i kommunen. Då man år 2007 firade Markaryds kommun 700 år, Markaryds kyrka 150 år och Linné 300 år tillkom aspekten att projektkören skulle kunna bidra med en konsert som avslutning på jubileumsåret. Några av huvudresonemangen i detta arbete är körsångens viktiga roll i såväl skola som i samhället. Körsången erbjuder möjligheter till interaktion mellan individer och/eller grupper vilket utvecklar deras kognitiva färdigheter. Genom det egna musicerandet utvecklas även en förståelse för musiken. I vårt postmoderna individualistiska samhälle kan en projektkör vara ett viktigt bidrag till en sociokulturell upplevelse som ger såväl individen som gruppen möjlighet till självväxt. Sammanfattningsvis kan sägas, att projektet väl nådde sina mål och genererade ett nytt mindre projekt vilket genomfördes i april 2008. Därutöver önskar man även till hösten 2008 att i ett liknande arrangemang som med Markaryd Cantat fortsätta samarbetet mellan körerna.
In October 2006 I presented the idea of gathering people in Markaryd, who were interested in singing, in a project choir with the goal of performing a major choral work with an orchestra, to the Department of Education and Culture in Markaryd. The goals of this project were to stimulate an increase in song and choir activity in the schools and the town and to, through this activity, both create a close contact to classical music and to build bridges between different groups in the town. The 700th anniversary of the town of Markaryd, the 150th anniversary of the church in Markaryd, combined with the 300th Linné anniversary, in 2007, added the thought that the project choir could contribute with a concert as a nice ending of the celebratory year. My research question is: In which way/ways has the project met the goals? The basis for my discussion of the results is written evaluations from the participants in the choirs, reactions from the community, press, society and the DVD documentation. One of the main issues in this work is the importance of singing in choir in school as well as in society. Singing in choir gives opportunities for interaction between individuals and/or groups which develops their cognitive skills. Through their own musicianship they also develop their understanding of music. In our postmodern individual society a project choir can be an important contribution to a socialcultural experience which gives the individual as well as the group a possibility for growth. The conclusion is: the project met its goals and generated a new project in April 2008. In addition there is a wish to continue the cooperation between the choirs in a similar project in the fall of 2008. (Less)
