King Stags and Fairy Queens: Modern religious myth in Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon
(2006)English Studies
- Abstract
- In this essay, I focus on the influences Bradley has used to construct her historical setting, specifically the pre-Christian religion that she describes in the novel. I have studied Bradley's use of Margaret Murray's theories, and how it affects the religious message of the novel.
