- Abstract
The greater perspective in this master thesis is how cross-conflict or cross line activities influence on positive changes in enemy perception. How these conflicts create better grounds for the construction of trust and understanding, and in the end what impact these conflicts have on the reconciliation and peace building in a post conflict timeframe.
I have chosen a case to expose the abovementioned impacts ? the cross-line demining training courses in Nuba Mountains, Sudan, facilitated by DanChurchAid (DCA) in a post conflict period.

I have chosen a case to expose the abovementioned impacts ? the cross-line demining training courses in Nuba Mountains, Sudan, facilitated by DanChurchAid (DCA) in a post conflict period.
The case is represented by two interviews ? Mads Frilander, who has performed an analysis for the Norwegian peace institute PRIO and respectively Sam Christensen, technical advisor in the mine action team of DCA.
I have discussed and analysed, with point of origin in theory regarding international/interactive conflict resolution concerning problem solving workshops. This is to verify, that cross-line activities can be viewed upon as a fragment of problem solving workshops. Furthermore, I have introduced and combined theory regarding coexistence in multiethnic societies and multiculturalism.
Conclusions drawed upon this theoretic and empirical basis shows, that cross-line activities have a positive impact on the change in enemy perception, building of trust and understanding, and in continuation, reconciliation and peace building. Furthermore, the case showed that the influence, from the direct participants in the cross-line activity to the person's environment, was minimal (Less)
