- The purpose of this report was to explore the process of stigmatisation of Jamaican women who are involved in tourism-oriented prostitution in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I wanted to examine how these women perceived themselves, other prostitutes and the tourists using their services as well as briefly examine professional viewpoint on these dimensions. Further I aimed to assess the stigmatisation of these women through their lived experiences of responses from local people.
I found that the women were stigmatised in various ways and that there were hierarchies within the industry.
