- The main purpose of this essay was to find out how members of Narcotics Anonymous and professionals within the socila service departments define integration of drug addicts, and ascertain how they experience their parts in the integration process. We have wanted to examine which factors that are essential for the earlier drogabuser in his rehabilitation to the ordinary world.
We wanted to find out as much as possible of the integration aspect. That´s the reason for our choice to do qualitative interviews with both people from the social service department and Narcotics Anonymous. We also obtained material from relevant litterature. We have wanted to examine which factors that are essential for the earlier drogabuser in his rehabilitation to the ordinary world.
We wanted to find out as much as possible of the integration aspect. That´s the reason for our choice to do qualitative interviews with both people from the social service department and Narcotics Anonymous. We also obtained material from relevant litterature. In our analysis, we have started from three theoretical basis. Principally it is the conception marginalitation that which cause a role conflict. Further, we applied Meads Symbolic interactionism and Habermas Communicative rationality as well.
Our main conclusion was that NA has great importance during an integration process, for the persons we interviewed. They all agreed that NA gives them soledarity and fellowship, since the social department service only can provide them basic necessities. We also reached the conclusion that NA has a bringing up character, which help the individual to overcome their role conflict difficulties. (Less)
