Abstract
This essay deals with the relationship between the influx to higher education and the situation on the labor market in Sweden. It also examines whether overeducation as a phenomenon is present among Swedish academics and if there is any obvious discrimination between the sexes. In our study, we have concluded that the theories to some extent could explain the decision to begin higher education and to find an employment... (More)

In our study, we have concluded that the theories to some extent could explain the decision to begin higher education and to find an employment afterwards. The phenomenon of overeducation appeared more in some groups and less in others. We have also concluded that there was no obvious discrimination between men and women, at least for the groups studied. Finally, we have come to the insight that there might be too many academics on the Swedish labor market. (Less)
