Abstract
The Social Insurance Office (FK) is responsible for the rehabilitation among long-term sick citizens. Two studies were performed with the aim to study the relation between the employees of FK and their clients. A further aim was to describe factors that the employees can bring into the relation with the client. In the first study a questionnaire was distributed to 302 employees. A total of 158 questionnaires were returned from 126 females and 28 men. In study two 10 employees were interviewed. The results indicated that, the organizational climate was less innovative, the employee-centred leadership style was the most obvious and the human service workers experienced quite a lot of WSOC. The organizational climate ( p < .0005 ) and the employee-centered leadership style ( p = .006 ) have influence on the WSOC. The change-centered leadership style ( p = .012 ) weakens the WSOC of the employees. Results from the study two showed that a high work-load put strains on the employees. There existed little balance between demands of work and the available resources. The conclusion was that the employees are in need of a leader that is employee- centered. Keywords: Organizational climate, leadership style, workrelated sense of coherence, relations, human services, social insurance office. (Less)
