- Abstract
- The aim of this paper was to examine opinions among professionals on which refugee children have the best versus the worst conditions to attain a favourable adaption in their new country. This was investigated through the conceptions of resilience and in consideration of the importance of gender and different methods of treatment. I have found that there are three subgroups of factors that are of importance. There are the factors in the child’s qualities, the factors which have to do with the family and the network around the child and the factors that can be tied to the situation. I have found that there are three subgroups of factors that are of importance. There are the factors in the child’s qualities, the factors which have to do with the family and the network around the child and the factors that can be tied to the situation. It has also become clear that there is not one method of treatment which is used exclusively in work with refugee children. To achieve integration is the most important change in our society to make the situation better for these children. (Less)
