Abstract
The purpose of this essay was to study the social planning, in terms of age care, of the elderly immigrants in Sweden. The final conclusion I have made is that the elderly immigrant’s special needs aren’t prioritized in the age care planning and the reasons for that are several. By gathering information on the subject through literature studies and interviews I have found that the main underlying causes are the planning structure, the relation between state and local politics and immigrant’s lack of participation, as well as politicians’ failure to engage immigrants in politics and the planning process.
