The Migration in the post-enlargement European Union
(2009) STVM17 20091Department of Political Science
- Abstract
- The issue of CEEC migrations to the EU-15 is a continuous topic since the preparations of the 2004 enlargement. It is common acknowledged that all the EU-15 members will benefit from the CEEC migration in a long term. However, the asymmetrical migrants will make the natives who are experiencing the high risk of unemployment more nervous and it is uneven to ask one country to afford the burden of enlargement. The thesis is focusing on the fears of the people in west members on the mass migration from the new members and its impact to the former.
