Abstract (Swedish)
The aim with the study was to describe and analyze the profession “personlig assistant” in Lunds kommun. The ambition of my work was to study these eight themes and how the assistants experience their work from a Human Resource perspective and finally to see if the assistants feel that they have any influence on their work.

The result of my study was rather interesting. Previous research shows that assistants experience working alone to be the main disadvantage. My study does not indicate that it is a disadvantage working alone. Two of the assistants interviewed in this study did indeed think that it was a big advantage to do so. Previous research also shows that personal assistant is a temporary profession which has a big personnel turnover. The study I have made partially shows the opposite. Most of the people working as personal assistants like their job and find it meaningful. The main advantages are the relationship to the client and the independence of the work. The main disadvantage in this profession is that it can be psychologically tough. (Less)
