I decided on using a qualitative method, and after studying earlier research on the subject I conducted six interviews. Using the labeling theory I analyzed my data, and found that children are handled differently compared to other asylum seekers because of the very fact that they are children. The Convention on the rights of the child is not always easy to interpret, and therefore Swedish authorities can be criticized in the way they handle questions concerning children and young asylum seekers.
