Considering the potentially changing ecological, social and economical conditions, what are the prospects for the future of the people of Dulki and Dayapur in the Sundarban?
With the use of the transition framework and the triangular model that looks at the three social domains as stated in the research question, three scenarios were depicted to describe what futures could be possible for the area. The results showed that in all three scenarios, sustainable development as such would be difficult to aspire for, as the carrying capacity of the area is limited in regard to the inevitable population increase that is unfolding there at the moment.
