The result from this study shows that there are norms about female inmates in the prison. The permission for using makeup, sanitary articles and other personal articles, the role as a mother and to be non-violent are norms about female inmates that exist in the prison. The study did only examine a few distinctions between norms of female and male prison warders and that is the unacceptable norm for a male prison warder to visit a female inmate alone in her room. Norms of female inmates causes from the socio-cultural system in our society. (Less)
