This thesis is going to analyse the inequalities in the country and how they might increase the risk of conflict when they coincide with the groups of ethnicity or religion. This qualitative thesis is made through a case study of two intra state conflicts, the hindu-muslim conflict and one-sided conflict of the Maoists against the Indian government. The conclusion of the thesis finds that when inequalities occur a strong group belonging is crucial for a conflict to arise. (Less)
