Den eviga staten?
(2010) FKVK01 20101Department of Political Science
- Abstract
- The ambition of this thesis is to discuss state – making from an historical point of view. The aim is also to point out the historical lineages in the world. This has been done by comparing the state – making of today in Afghanistan with the state – making in medieval Europe. Charles Tilly’s four stages of state – making has been applied and the result is that Afghanistan’s state – making is divided in three of the stages. We cannot discuss failed states any more. The national – state shall not be taken for granted and the world does not only contain national – states. Also the thesis have concluded that state – destroying is also state – making since if the state Afghanistan is destroyed then new states will be made.
