Abstract
Despite western familiarity with Japan, there is little general knowledge of Japanese national minorities; the myth of Japanese homogeneity is well entrenched.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between discrimination and invisibility, specifically how the two affect each other. By exploring how 3 minorities have been discriminated and made invisible, I argue that invisibility and discrimination perpetuates each other.
