- The current research illustrates how and why indigenous people chose to form an indigenous people’s
organization (IPO) to help them on their struggle. It takes into account the cases of two different cultural
contexts: the Ifugao and Aeta of Luzon in the Philippines. This study uses the qualitative method by basing
its results on a series of methods for data collection, such as semi-structured interviews, fieldwork diary,
participant observation, and informal conversation interviews. Additionally, it draws on Bourdieu’s theory of
practice to understand the two logics inherent in the newly formed organizations. The main findings show
