Authors: Niclas Hackfelt, Bachelor of Science in construction engineering and architecture, Lund Institute of Technology. Urban Skogmar, Architect Metro Arkitekter in Malmö. Examiner: Jesper Arfvidsson, Proffesor, Department Heads of Building Physics, Lund Institute of Technology. Aim: The Purpose is to provide Metro Arkitekter with a report on the possibilities for the construction of a house with Autoclaved aerated concrete structure which complies to the specifications of the Passiv house standard from FEBY. The work also aims to highlight the various advantages and disadvantages of some different construction details and make the involved companies aware of the problems that can occur with a heavy Autoclaved aerated concrete structure. Method: For a passive house project, that Metro Arkitekter are involved in planning, the conditions in terms of climate and location have been studied and the proposed construction details have been developed. Alternative construction details were developed to, in the first instance, be compared from a energy use and power demand perspective in the simulation program VIP Energy. The second phase was to analyze the detail solutions from a construction and building physical perspective and finally to present a final solution based on the results of the analysis. Conclusion: The results of the simulations clearly show that the requirements will not be met with either the proposed or the developed construction details. However, simulations show that the house power demand can be reduced through various measures such as smaller windows to the north and better insulated wall. The simulations also show that the energy use is highly dependent on user behavior but that an installation of a heat pump would make a lot of difference to the energy use. The difference in power and energy use between the various construction details can be seen as non existing. In this case focus on choosing construction details should be on the construction and building physical aspects instead of power and energy use. The report also shows features that the alternative roof construction gives a much safer and more secure roof. Keywords: Passive house, Autoclaved aerated concrete, VIP-Energy, Thermal bridges, Construction details, Energy use, Power demand, Energy simulation (Less)
