- Abstract
- The purpose of this thesis is to identify values and motive of ethnic diversity. By interwieving people responsible for employment on TeliaSoneras service department the thesis concludes that values and motives of ethnic diversity is motivated by human rights and profits.
The thesis shows that when employers value ethnic diversity by a lucrative rationality the practice of diversity management tends to reduce the respect of the human dignity. The analysis of the thesis suggests that this conflict of ideas is deepened in the discourse of managing diversity. It is important for employers to reflect on their values and motives for diversity management since previous studies show that employers’ attitudes have an effect on the diversity...
