- Abstract
- The aim and purpose of this study has been to examine how Swedish media portrays homeless people. This essay will explain my conclusions of how five Swedish newspapers, morning and evening press, describes homeless people. The articles I have chosen are from the largest newspapers and they are all published during a four month period of 2010. I have used Norman Faiclough´s model for a critical discourse analysis to analyze how the newspapers portray the homeless. In the analysis I used the theories behind the social constructivism as a springboard and starting point which also has a connection to Fairclogh´s model of critical discourse.
