One conclusion was that when computer usage is seen as problematic is context-bound, we shape our reality and based on that we defined what is a deviant behaviour. It also appeared that the conflict partly due to generational differences. Parents who do not possess the same knowledge and experience on computers, conflict arises when the values and reality perceptions are different. I also find that it is problematic to see the children's computer use as an addiction, because it will also attribute certain characteristics that are interconnected with the concept of dependence. Professional’s can see the problematic use of computer as part of an overall need for change for the family and not only for the child. The perception of using computers will evolve over time, the generation that now growing up creating a reality where the computer may have a natural place in everyday life. (Less)
