- Abstract
- This thesis illustrates a method of analysing the risk management of an enterprise in its management system from a systems perspective. The method implies, by means of a model of the value chain of an enterprise, connecting the external and internal demands for risk management with the business processes of the enterprise. This is done with a view of pointing out defects in the internal demands in relation to the external ones.
The adopted method of analysis which is founded on literature about systematic theories has been tested by Tågia AB which is a maintenance enterprise for railway vehicles. The work has resulted in: 1. a document over the external demands for risk management, 2. an account of the risk management in the procedures... Three suggestions for specific methods of risk management usable for the enterprise.
This study implies that the method contributes to create a more holistic picture of the enterprise and its internal and external demands for risk management, and that this in turn can influence the identification of defects in the quality of the suggested improvements in a positive way. However, it is difficult to claim that the method used would be more effective than a method where a systems perspective has not been applied. (Less)
