Havsisens avsmältning i Arktis och dess effekter

Havsisen smälter i Arktis i en allt snabbare takt än vad många forskare trott. Den främsta orsaken till havsisavsmältningen är människan. Utsläppen av växthusgaser har ökat allt mer de senaste åren, vilket har bidragit till en temperaturförhöjning jorden över. Andra forskare menar att det är ett resultat av en naturlig klimatvariation. Havsisens minskning kommer påverka både det Arktiska klimatet och miljön. Ekosystem som är beroende av havsisen kommer få anpassa sig och människorna som lever i Arktis kommer få ändra sin livsstil.
Sedan 1979 har havsisen minskat sin utbredning, och 2007 nådde havsisen ett rekordlågt minimum. Klimatmodeller visar att redan 2050 kommer Arktisk Oceanen vara näst intill havsisfritt. Ett varmare klimat kommer... (More)
