Abstract (Swedish)
The report studies the area of positive pressure ventilation, how it can be used to obtain a more effective fire services intervention and how an incorrect initiation could drastically worsen the interior conditions for occupants inclusive of fire services personnel. The tests in the report
examine how flow rate and pressure within a building are affected if parameters such as fan placement and ratio between air inlet and air outlet are varied. This report shows that fast response and correctly performed positive pressure ventilation provides an improved working
environment for fire services personnel working within the building, resulting in faster performance both in terms of internal fire fighting and search and rescue for occupants.... (More)

The report also presents recommendations for ratios between air inlet and air outlet as well as for fan placement for different scenarios, depending on the specific scenario for the initiation of positive pressure ventilation.
