- Abstract
- This study is about citizen participation in regional visionary development and focuses on what makes the democratic system legitimate. The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate the regional visionary plan in aspect to normative ideas about democracy. This democratic norm is borrowed from K. Sjövik and focuses on citizen participation in all aspects of democracy. The primary material for this study is the Regionalt utvecklingsprogram för Skåne 2009-2016 and it is made up of a number of reports and documents that forms the visionary plan for the region. The failure to live up to Sjöviks normative ideas raises questions about the legitimacy of the visionary plan and citizen participation in crucial democratic decisions like the regional future.
