Abstract
In this thesis I have investigated pauses in writing in word-internal contexts and clause boundaries. I have been looking at the differences between 15-year-olds and adults with dyslexia and been focusing on how many pauses and how much pause time they have in these contexts. People with dyslexia have difficulties coding words, which mean that they are bad spellers and readers. Normally we automatise processes like spelling, while practicing reading and writing, to be able to focus on other levels like planning the text. There seems to be two kinds of writers in each group and I could see that for the 15 year olds, the word internal pauses correlates with other categories while this is not the case for the adults.
