The aim is to study how people deal with their situation between the expectations for increased information processing and the increasing amounts of choices in which this information is needed. One conclusion is that the respondents often find passive strategies to cope with the difficult and sometimes impossible situation between the increasing amount of information and the increasing number of choices. One such strategy is to forward all the information and the choosing process to someone else. Another strategy is to make no choice at all. A third passive strategy is the inconsistency. Despite high awareness of the negative environmental consequences of certain options, the respondents choose them anyway. An example of this is that they continue their traveling by car and by air, though they know the negative consequences of them. At the same time the same persons carefully separate waste and make environmentally wise choices. Keywords: (Less)
