We have chosen to examine this phenomenon using a qualitative method to be able to reach the professionals´own stories and experiences. This has been achieved through the use of semi-structured interviews with seven experienced professionals who work in health care. These professionals represent different professions such as, psychologists, social workers and nurses. In this study, we found that the law is mainly a framework for professionals in health care. There are no guidelines for how the actual work should be performed. Some professionals may experience this as a freedom when they can structure and organize the work themselves, while others may expirience uncertainty without explicit expectations from the organization.
