Övergången mellan koronadiabas och eklogit i Seveskollan på Grapesvare, Norrbotten, svenska Kaledoniderna

- Abstract
- In the Seve Nappe Complex on Mt. Grapesvare, Swedish Caledonides, coronitic dolerites and eclogites occur in psammitic and pelitic schists. The transition between them is a 200 m wide zone with small boudins of garnet amphibolite. That zone trends N95°E and does not coincide with any tectonic discontinuity. The intensity of deformation and the lithology of the host rock do not change at the transition from corona dolerite to eclogite. The eclogites and corona dolerites are chemically identical. Their main and trace element patterns resemble those of the Baltoscandian rift facies dyke swarm comprising the Sarek and Särv dolerites (the Barturte and Pieljekaise dolerites included). The REE patterns of the eclogites, corona dolerites, the... (More)

The REE patterns of the eclogites, corona dolerites, the Sarek, and Särv dolerites are all parallel and close to T-type MORB. In the Nb-Zr-Y and Ti-Zr-Hf tectonic setting discrimination diagrams, the corona dolerites plot between the E-and N-MORB fields. In the Hf-Th-Ta diagram, the Särv dolerites plot in the E-MORB field, and the eclogites, corona dolerites and Sarek dolerites in or between the fields for N-MORB and destructive margin basalts. It is concluded that the eclogites
and the corona dolerites belong to the same nappe; their protolith probably belonging to the Baltoscandian rift facies dyke swarm. Eclogitization was isochemical. (Less)
