- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to get a view of the professional healthcare workers experiences in their preventive work against HIV/AIDS in Lusaka, Zambia. It is a qualitative study, and the data was collected in Lusaka, Zambia. Ten people (six nurses, two counselors, one clinical officer and one UN volunteer) were interviewed at a project dealing with HIV/AIDS prevention. The results show that prevention is important in the struggle against HIV/AIDS. Many aspects are involved; condoms and other family planning methods, one partner, education, knowledge of what HIV/AIDS is, of transmission, of their status and how to protect oneself, culture, money and resources.
